Leading North West property services company The Momentum Group has pledged around £5,000 for local charity, Alfie’s Squad, through its second Go Karting Grand Prix fundraising event.

Held at TeamSport Liverpool on 12^th June, the event brought together employees, clients, and partners from across the region to support the charity, which was founded in Liverpool and provides vital support to children and families affected by suicide bereavement. The Go Karting Grand Prix gave participants exclusive access to the track and was supported by event sponsors Arnwell Joinery Ltd, Barlows, Hallmark Compliance, Integrum, JC Fire Protection, Liverpool Demolition and MTEC Electrical.

The fundraiser forms part of Momentum Contribute, The Momentum Group’s ESG and social value programme, which focuses on supporting the communities where the business operates through volunteering, mentoring and fundraising initiatives. All proceeds from ticket sales will be fed into The Momentum Foundation, The Momentum Group’s charitable foundation which was established in 2020 and is managed by the Community Foundation for Merseyside. The Foundation will then make a grant award to Alfie’s Squad to help the charity continue its life-changing work across Liverpool and the UK.

Alfie’s Squad was established in 2023 after founder Alfie experienced the devastating loss of his father to suicide at the age of eight. What began as a single face-to-face support session for six children has grown into a thriving organisation supporting 88 children and their families over the past year. With around 900 children and young people affected by suicide bereavement each year, the need for specialist support continues to grow.

Plans are already underway for an even bigger Go Karting Grand Prix next year. The event will be held on Friday 12 March at TeamSport Liverpool.
